Computer Applications and Quantitative Methods in Archaeology, 2011

The Computer Applications and Quantitative Methods in Archaeology conference, UK Chapter meeting (CAAUK) was held at Birmingham University this weekend. Some great papers presented and a good time had by all. The Programme and Abstracts booklet is on the conference website and also available here.

I talked about laser scanning in archaeology, how the technology can be used and some of the pros and cons. Following up from this, the materials shown will be published over on the Wessex Archaeology website over the next week or so.

Jessica Ogden (aka DigiGal) has done a great job writing up the conference using the Storify platform (nice one Jess!) and you can see the whole twitter stream using the #caauk twitter hashtag. As is becoming the norm, there was an active parallel discussion going on via online social media throughout the event.
